La Peniche French restaurant is on the barge MV Riasc (peniche is the French for barge) moored on the Grand Canal alongside Mespil Road between Baggot and Leeson Street bridges, a short walk from Ballsbridge and St Stephen’s Green. Each day there are two evening cruises at 6pm and 9pm. There is also a lunchtime service, and on a sunny day or evening it’s a special treat to dine up on deck.
On a canal boat cruise from Mespil Road down towards Leeson street lock and then we head to Charlemont Luas Bridge and back to Mespil Road. You will learn more about the history of Guinness and about Dublin’s Grand Canal.
“The food is honest and well made, but the unique selling proposition here is the whole experience. If you have a night out with friends coming up, it’s a great fun night, and something very different.” ~ Paolo Tullio, Taste of Ireland
